It's one of those movies that you can't take seriously, and then you can, and then you can't, and then you can, and then you swear off hallucinogens for the rest of your life. LOL. But in all seriousness, the movie references some other famous zombie films but remains very much its own film, having weird, brief moments of clarity and insight in between talking about Butterfly Twinkle Powder (no, that was not a joke. I'm serious).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-24834641736571104872010-03-03T13:30:03.606-05:002010-03-03T13:30:03.606-05:00Glad you found what you were looking for, Jan!Glad you found what you were looking for, Jan!B-Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717121313061173603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-32333860427376861512010-03-03T12:51:27.264-05:002010-03-03T12:51:27.264-05:00Finally a good horror/comedy list, took some time ...Finally a good horror/comedy list, took some time to scavenge through all the crap I googled.Jan L.http://www.dangerdanger.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-70493393151010329152009-11-01T10:26:12.048-05:002009-11-01T10:26:12.048-05:00Read the title, read the title, read the title!Read the title, read the title, read the title!B-Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717121313061173603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-44040191149833793642009-11-01T09:54:57.242-05:002009-11-01T09:54:57.242-05:00Beetlejuice?

The only one I'd disagree with is Fido, which I thought was alright, but not in my top 10. I watched Bubba Ho Temp again recently with my wife and rediscovered that it not only had some very funny bits and lines, but also was a pretty powerful and often very sad film about aging and becoming marginalized. Definitely not what I'd expect from Bruce.

Cabin Fever was also pretty damned funny...the deer and the kid with the mullet yelling PANCAKES and doing slo-mo kung fu.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998494372417859151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-88208858174962699002009-10-27T22:36:19.725-04:002009-10-27T22:36:19.725-04:00Excellent choices. I have tried (really, really tried) to enjoy the various "satire/parody" films that we have been subjected to this decade. I neither find them humorous or entertaining, nor am I impressed with Anna Faris (sorry). But that's just my opinion.

I would have substituted Feast (2005), which is so bloody & over-the-top you can't help but laugh your way through it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
