And at least be partially justifiable. Personally, some horror films are just ridiculously dated and could probably benefit from an 'updating'. In the world of Saw and Hostel, human sacrifice (Wicker Man), and satanists (Rosemary's Baby) don't really shock, so I can see why they're first up to be remade. I enjoy the films, in a classic sense, but there wasn't anything really unnerving or shocking about them. Though I'm not jaded by the likes of Saw and Hostel, I mean, I still can't watch The Haunting ('63) alone, and generally prefer horror films of yore.gordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11955994070918697381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-55251850079731784272008-04-04T22:18:00.000-04:002008-04-04T22:18:00.000-04:00No, Brian, it didn't fit at all. Unfortunately, it...No, Brian, it didn't fit at all. Unfortunately, it's all too simple why they chose to remake it--money. That's the guiding force behind this whole remake epidemic.B-Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717121313061173603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-8193828031014643252008-04-04T18:06:00.000-04:002008-04-04T18:06:00.000-04:00I could never understand why they chose to remake ...I could never understand why they chose to remake the film in the first place. The original script was perfect for its time and setting, but dropping it into modern day America didn't seem to fit.

That and the goddamn bear suit.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05107902820094844131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-33214603782446847432008-04-04T11:26:00.000-04:002008-04-04T11:26:00.000-04:00Yeah, the Cage version isn't even worth a look for...Yeah, the Cage version isn't even worth a look for curiousity's sake. Awful! As for the sequel, it was planned to be a sequel to the original version, so it may actually have been worthwhile.B-Solhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10717121313061173603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8470604276410220159.post-69437242421814016282008-04-04T09:32:00.000-04:002008-04-04T09:32:00.000-04:00I didn't see the Nick Cage version but heard lots ...I didn't see the Nick Cage version but heard lots of bad about it.
