Remakes! There, doesn't that just make your stomach get all tight and your palms cold and sweaty? Horror fans tend to get a bit up in arms at the very notion of remakes, but take a listen as The Horror Digest's Andre Dumas and myself wax philosophic about exactly why remakes are not always a bad thing, and how they can actually serve an important purpose!
So if you want to find out exactly what we mean, or if you want to listen to us pick the movies we'd most like to see remade, and the ones we wish never were, listen in on the embedded player below, jump to the Vaultcast page, or download it right here.

I loved listening to this convo. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and thank you! We had a blast doing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode and it was awesome hearing the lovely Miss Dumas and her brand of witty entertainment!
ReplyDeleteI must chime in about how fans receive upcoming remakes now, as opposed to the 80's with movies like The Thing or The Fly. I'm sure some people had their arms up in protest back in the day when they heard of a remake, but I cannot imagine it is nearly as bad as it is now. That is certainly due to the powers of the internet with how fast info is shared and how easily people can trash something on a public forum.
Matt, you've hit the nail on the head. The backlashes are much stronger now thanks to the web, as they are in all areas of life. People are more tuned in than ever, and also have the means to respond instantly. Back in the day, it usually consisted of stewing in frustration as you browsed through the pages of Fangoria...
ReplyDeleteHahahah my intro music is the BEST!
ReplyDeleteTimed with DJ-like precision, if I do say so myself...
ReplyDeleteDammit, now *everyone's* gonna want intro music...
