Bad news today for all you Cenobite fans. Box Office Mojo is reporting that MGM's remake of Clive Barker's 1987 classic Hellraiser has been temporarily derailed. Originally slated to come out in September, the Weinsteins' produced flick has now been bumped to an undetermined 2009 release.
The delay in production would appear to be a result of the ongoing WGA strike, which has also reportedly stalled Eli Roth's next project, Trailer Trash.

Can't say I'm sorry about this. The original Hellraiser should be left alone.
A remake might not be bad, the original has its moments but overall it's not as satisfying as it should have been. I mean the idea/concept is totally awesome, just a buncha ho-hum movies so far though. Maybe a better director (team) can finally bring it to its full horrific realization.
Has anyone seen Bustillo and Maury's INSIDE? I hear it's great, possibly they'll give it a worthy make-over.
I haven't seen their previous work, but I also agree that Hellraiser is a bit overrated. It hasn't aged well. Plus, it might be interesting if they go back to the original Clive Barker story.
Writers?
We will tear their SOULS APART!
Can't say I'm sorry about this either. Thou Shalt Not Remake!
