OK, so lots of other people seem to be doing the whole "Here's what I did for Halloween" post--so why not me? I apologize for the lateness, but here goes. As you can see above, I went the whole zombie route this year. Unimaginative, I know. But I hadn't done it in many years, and there have really been noticeable improvements in drug store Halloween makeup since the mid 1990s!
Zombelina did the cowgirl thing. I know, I know--we're not especially creative in my household. But who cares, how adorable is she?
Wee-Sol has to push the pram a lot.
Never should've tried that new Gillette Mach 27.
The spread. Yeahhh, can you say "hardcore"? No.... neither can I.
Suburban Parents of the Dead
Yeah, we bobbed for apples. Hear that, Swine Flu? We're not afraid of you! Bring it!
The "Homer Simpson" variation on the tried-and-true swinging apple game. Mmmmm... Samhain.
My Flyboy impression.

Your kids are cute beyond words, and DUDE! I *had* that plastic armor and shield when I was a tot. I'd really wanted to be a gladiator for Halloween, but the medieval armor was as close as we could get to creating that costume. The zombie makeup is really cool--you both SOLD the characters! Baron XIII and I can't stand the feeling of stage blood, for whatever reason, so we've historically foregone the gruesome costumes. Looks *so* awesome on you guys, though!
Thanks Kate! Yeah, the fake blood is kinda gross, but we're troopers (specially the Mrs., she puts up with quite a bit :-)). I like to go for the more au natural zombie look, more Dawn than Day!
And my son did the same thing, actually, he used the knight outfit and pretended to be a gladiator--which is why I had such a hard time getting him to keep the helmet on.
Very cool photos, thanks for sharing! You guys are cool parents!
Awesome stuff. Zombies never get old. I'm glad to see some classic celebrations with your adorable kids.
Terrific pictures...are those candy/eyeball necklaces on the table?
Isn't it funny doing the zombie makeup these days, now that the rest of the world has "discovered" the joys of the living dead...I remember doing ghoul before ghoul was cool.
Thanks guys. And yes Pax, those are indeed candy eyeball necklaces. I agree about the zombie getup--the last time I donned it was about a dozen years ago, when it was a lot more unique!
Your kids are so adorable!
As gross and twisted as my house was this year the moment is lost when trick or treaters are greeted by my son and daughter, or should I say, kitten and monkey!?
I think it's a bi-law that all kids under 9 have to be cute on Halloween.
Way to rock it out the undead with the wife!
Later days,
Christopher
You guys check for razor blades in those apples? Awesome stuff.
