Wow. So hard for him NOT to look like Dracula. No wonder he was stereotyped.
Great pics! =) Always a pleasure to see the many faces of Bela! Have any of Dwight Frye? Love him! haha =)
Cool Pics just watched Bela Lugosi meets the Brooklyn Gorilla Pretty Crazy Who where those Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin impersonaters! Funny Stuff they even called Bela Dracula!
Chris: He never got to enjoy the kind of career Karloff did, unfortunately.
Keely: Funny you should ask... http://thevaultofhorror.blogspot.com/2009/11/many-faces-of-dwight-frye.html
Anon.: Yeah, those Martin & Lewis knockoffs did a few flicks like that one. Poor Bela...
No matter what role, no matter what situation, Lugosi delivered the goods. Murder Legendre and Ygor are his best after Dracula, and evil Ygor is so much fun to watch.
Nice pics of Bela and nice web site! If you have time, please check out my new blog entitled Bela: The Nomad Years at http://belathenomadyears.blogspot.com
Bela is by far my favorite actor of all time! He always gave it his all no matter what the circumstances!
