Remembering a True Gentleman of Horror

A Happy Birthday in Hammer heaven to one of the genre's greatest legends, Peter Cushing, who would've been 97 today...

Easily my favourite horror actor, and definitely in my top five actors period. He is just so damned amazing I'll watch him in anything.

Anyone know of any really bizarre or non typical roles/films featuring him?

I believe he has some weird bit part as a ship captain in Dr. Phibes Rises Again. It's weird because it's such a non-descript little part, which doesn't even acknowledge him as a big genre star, which he most certainly was at the time (early '70s).

Total bummer

I've yet to encounter anyone who had a bad word to say about Cushing. An utter professional and gentleman, no matter what his opinion was on the film he was doing. Sorely missed.

One of the old English pros, no doubt about it.
