In this clip provided by Paramount Pictures to Bloody Disgusting today, Depp croons a bit of "Johanna", one of the songs written for the stage musical by Sondheim--also known for such musicals as Sunday in the Park with George, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods and West Side story (lyrics only) and for composing such standards as "Send in the Clowns", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "Comedy Tonight" and "Let Me Entertain You."
What, I can't like horror movies and showtunes...?

Our Johnny has a nice speaking voice so he might just pull it off and a lot of actors usually have other talents too. A horror with a showtune...isn't that Phantom of the Opera...too romantic perhaps.
Yeah, I'd definitely classify Phantom as a horror musical. And there was also a musical Jeckyll & Hyde on Broadway a few years back (the good doctor was played by such luminaries as David Hasselhoff and Sebastian Bach of Skid Row!)
Oh good Lord, tell me Hasselhoff was at least Mr Hyde.
LOL Well, he played both roles of course.
