I just ordered the awesome '59 version from work the other day, as well as a bunch of other Hammer films for about $10 a piece.
And on the same note, while I'm sure just about everyone will disagree with me, I've always preferred Hammer's icons of horror entires over Universals...I recognize they're not as well crafted, and classic, etc. but I've always found them more enjoyable.
They're so very different, I can see how one might prefer the Hammer versions. I flop back and forth myself!
Mummys kick ass. Personally, I really dig the classic Universal pics over the later Hammer films. Of course, both series offer classic films, and you really can't go wrong either way.
I really need to buff-up my Hammer collection, now I that I think about it…
